- When I started to effectively cope with Post-traumatic stress
following a stint in the Vietnam War and years of mental
anguish, I felt compelled to share his experience.
When I found a lot of the answers for myself, I had a voice
that said this is not your information to keep.
I have completed a book which I hope will help other
veterans – who often feel closely connected whether they
fought in World War II or the current Iraq War – live with post-
traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
I hope my book will reach veterans of all wars, and that
sharing the journey I began well before I was first
diagnosed with PTSD in 1992 will help others cope with
PTSD.
I was actually happy when I was told I had PTSD. I was
relieved to know what it was; to have an understanding of
what I was experiencing – that helped me accept it. 1
