RE: Breath of Fresh Air for transition of coming home from war and transitioning to civilian life.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book “Souled Out” by Michael Orban; thus, I had a hard time putting the book down and read this book in a few sittings. The things written in this book are very helpful/insightful in how a veteran’s life is turned upside down after being in Dante’s Inferno in a combat zone. I have strongly recommended this book to several of my colleagues working with returning veterans from Iraq and Afhganistan along with older veteran’s from other era’s.
I had Michael come and speak to a group returning veteran’s at Domiciliary 43 to discuss the importance of working on the experiences that happened to them in war with the groups that are provided at the VA along with individual counseling. Michael captivated the group with his gentle/mild way of putting tough topics into a tangible way which the veteran’s in the group could relate to.
In addition I have had Michael meet with some of my returning veterans from Iraq and from Vietnam in which has been helpful in helping these veterans move their lives forward.
Michael’s positive attitude about putting things back together is very inspirational and needed at this time when so many veterans are suffering in the prison of their own minds beating themselves up over the difficult things that happen to them in the military.
Thank you Michael for giving of your time, talents, and energies in helping past generations and new generations of veteran’s truly come home in mind not just body.
Keep up the awesome work Michael; thus, I would strongly recommend Michael for speaking to veteran’s who are struggling to find a new path to peace.
Sincerely,
